Fat Dissolving Injections
Permanent Fat Reduction with Aqualyx
Why choose Aqualyx fat dissolving injections?
Lose the fat that won't budge — without surgery.
Some fat doesn't respond to diet or exercise, no matter how consistent you are. Aqualyx® targets those pockets directly, permanently destroying fat cells in a defined area so your body can clear them naturally.
No incisions, no general anaesthetic, no surgical recovery — and once a fat cell is gone, it doesn't come back.

How Aqualyx works
A naturally occurring acid, used with precision.
Aqualyx® contains deoxycholic acid — a substance your body already produces to break down dietary fat. Injected directly into a localised fat deposit, it destroys the fat cell membrane through a process called adipocytolysis.
The released contents are then metabolised and cleared via your lymphatic system and liver over the following weeks. Because the cells themselves are destroyed rather than shrunk, they cannot regenerate — which is what makes the result permanent, provided your weight stays stable.
Aqualyx Face
Lower concentration, developed for the delicate under-chin zone.
Ideal for jawline definition and double chin reduction.
Two formulas, matched to the area
Aqualyx Body
Full strength, for larger and more resistant fat deposits.
Ideal for Stomach, thighs, arms, back, knees.
What Aqualyx can do for you
Four things that set it apart from the alternatives.
1.
The fat doesn't come back
Unlike fat freezing or reduction that shrinks cells, Aqualyx® destroys them. They can't regenerate.
2.
No surgery, no downtime off work
No incisions or general anaesthetic. Most people carry on with normal life the same day.
3.
Treats areas surgery often can't justify
A double chin or small pocket of back fat rarely warrants liposuction — but responds well here.
4.
Precise and localised
Treats exactly the area you want changed, without affecting anything around it.
Where can Aqualyx be used?
We treat both face and body, using the formula suited to each.
Double chin & jawline
Our most requested treatment. Permanently reduces submental fat for a sharper jaw and cleaner neck profile. Typically needs fewer sessions than body areas.
DOUBLE CHIN · SUBMENTAL FAT · JAWLINE DEFINITION
Stomach & waist
Targets the localised pockets that persist despite training — lower abdomen, love handles, and the area above the waistband.
LOWER STOMACH · LOVE HANDLES · MUFFIN TOP
Thighs & knees
Inner and outer thighs, plus the fat pad above the knee that's notoriously resistant to exercise.
INNER & OUTER THIGHS · ABOVE THE KNEE
Arms & back
Upper arms and the bra-line or back rolls — areas where even small reductions make a visible difference in how clothes fit.
UPPER ARMS · BRA BULGE · BACK ROLLS
Aqualyx® treats subcutaneous fat only — the pinchable layer just beneath the skin. It won't work on visceral fat (the deeper fat around your organs) and it isn't a treatment for loose skin. If skin laxity is the main issue, we'll tell you honestly and suggest a better option.
Is Aqualyx right for you?
This is a contouring treatment, not a weight loss solution.
✅ Aqualyx® tends to work best if you:
Are at or near a stable weight, with specific fat that won't shift
Can pinch the fat in the area you want treated
Want a permanent result rather than something that needs topping up
Are looking for a non-surgical alternative to liposuction
Understand results are gradual and build across a course of sessions
❌ This treatment may not be suitable if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have an active infection or skin condition in the area
Have significant liver or kidney disease
Have a known sensitivity to deoxycholic acid
Are looking for general weight loss rather than targeted contouring
Have loose skin rather than a fat deposit in the area
Full suitability is confirmed at your free consultation. We assess the area properly before recommending treatment.
What's involved
The appointment, and the weeks that follow.
1.
Assessment & mapping
We check the fat is pinchable and suitable, confirm the right formula, and mark the treatment zone.
2.
Injection
Aqualyx® is injected into the fat deposit. Local anaesthetic is used for comfort. Takes 60–90 minutes depending on the area.
3.
Swelling begins
Swelling starts within hours. This is the treatment working, not a complication.
4.
Return visits
Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart. We won't re-treat until swelling has fully settled and the result can be properly assessed.
What the recovery actually looks like
This is the part worth being clear about. Aqualyx® works by triggering an inflammatory response, so swelling isn't a side effect — it's the mechanism. Expect noticeable swelling, tenderness, firmness, and sometimes bruising, peaking around 24–72 hours and settling gradually over 2–4 weeks.
For the first 48 hours, avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot baths, and alcohol. Stay well hydrated to support lymphatic clearance. We'll give you full written aftercare at your appointment.
Planning ahead: don't book within 4 weeks of a wedding, holiday, or event. Swelling in the chin especially is visible.
What to expect, and when
Gradual by design — your body clears the fat over several weeks.
FIRST CHANGES
3–4 weeks
Visible once swelling settles and fat begins clearing.
FULL RESULTS
1–2 months post-course
Once all treated fat has been metabolised and eliminated.
SESSIONS NEEDED
2–4 per area
Confirmed at consultation based on the area and volume.
RESULTS LAST
Permanent
Fat cells are destroyed, not shrunk — they can't return.
Significant swelling, bruising, firmness, and temporary numbness in the treated area are normal and expected — particularly in the first week. These are signs the adipocytolysis process is underway. Contact us if you experience unusual skin changes, asymmetry that concerns you, or symptoms that worsen rather than improve after 2 weeks.

Fat dissolving injections frequently asked questions
-
Fat dissolving injections is the general term for the treatment category. Aqualyx® is the specific product we use — one of the most widely used and clinically established options available, containing deoxycholic acid.
-
Yes. Once a fat cell is destroyed it cannot regenerate, so the result in the treated area is permanent. Remaining fat cells elsewhere can still expand with weight gain, so maintaining a stable weight preserves your result.
-
There's a stinging or burning sensation as the solution contacts the fat — that's normal and expected. Local anaesthetic is used to manage it, and most people tolerate the treatment well. The area stays tender, swollen, and warm for several days afterwards.
-
More than you might think, and that's a good sign. Swelling peaks at 24–72 hours and settles over 2–4 weeks. We recommend not booking within four weeks of any important event.
-
Most areas need 2–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. The double chin often responds in fewer; larger body areas may need more. We'll give you a realistic estimate at consultation.
-
Fat freezing (cryolipolysis) uses cold to damage fat cells, which are then cleared over time. Aqualyx® uses an injected solution to destroy them directly. Both permanently reduce fat cells, but Aqualyx® can treat smaller and more awkwardly shaped areas that an applicator can't reach.
-
Liposuction removes a much greater volume in a single procedure, but involves surgery, anaesthetic, and real recovery. Aqualyx® works gradually across several sessions and suits smaller, defined areas. For significant volume, surgery remains the more appropriate option — and we'll say so.
-
No. It targets subcutaneous fat, not skin laxity. If loose skin is the primary concern, a different approach would serve you better, which is why we assess carefully before recommending treatment.
-
No. It's a contouring treatment for localised, stubborn fat. The best candidates are already at or near a stable weight with specific areas of resistant fat.
-
Yes — it isn't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection in the area, with significant liver or kidney disease, or with a known sensitivity to deoxycholic acid. We take a full medical history at consultation.
